826 Dallas Project is building a community of support to ensure that Dallas youth are able to access the power and the joy of writing.

Serving as a local champion for future generations of writers, 826 Dallas Project exists to motivate, empower, and uplift youth in the Dallas community to use their voice and share their stories with the world.

Made up of a coalition of local Dallas youth-serving organizations convened by the University of North Texas at Dallas, 826 Dallas Project is working with the support of 826 National to build a chapter of their acclaimed networking from the ground up. 826 Dallas Project is a fiscally-sponsored project of UNT Dallas Foundation.

Check out our latest student publication: Six Feet: Same Distance, Different Stories

In Spring 2023, 826 Dallas Project partnered with middle school students at the West Dallas STEM School to publish Six Feet: Same Distance, Different Stories.

Six Feet is an anthology written and created by students, capturing their diverse experiences with COVID-19. Through personal narratives, short stories, and poetry, these young authors offer profound insight into their lives during significant change and upheaval. Six Feet showcases the power of student voices and the transformative impact of writing. Discover a tapestry of emotions, resilience, and connection, reminding us that even in physical separation, our stories matter.

“You have your life planned out, but when life takes another turn, don’t get stressed out. It may not be what you had planned, but you’re doing exactly what you are supposed to be doing.” - Vanessa C., age 13, from “At Peace” in Six Feet: Same Distance, Different Stories

Six Feet: Same Distance, Different Stories is available for purchase online at the 826 Digital Store.
