826 Dallas Project is building a community of support to ensure that Dallas youth are able to access the power and the joy of writing.
Serving as a local champion for future generations of writers, 826 Dallas Project exists to motivate, empower, and uplift youth in the Dallas community to use their voice and share their stories with the world.
Made up of a coalition of local Dallas youth-serving organizations, 826 Dallas Project is working with the support of 826 National to build a chapter of their acclaimed networking from the ground up.

Wonders of the West: The Stories Behind the Mask brings together a powerful collection of fictional narratives written by students who dare to explore what people often keep hidden. A motley collection of fictional narratives written by students who use storytelling to explore the emotions and experiences people often keep hidden. These stories don’t just showcase creativity; they reveal the students’ ability to imagine lives beyond their own, to empathize deeply, and to give voice to characters who are fighting to be understood. Each piece dives into serious themes such as loss, conflict, survival, emotional hardship, and the quiet resilience that emerges in difficult moments.
From the righteous telling of “The Night Goes Wrong” by S. Jackson to the havoc in “Not a Drill” by Kimberly T., Pinkston H-Tech student writing touches on different social issues such as race and school safety. Sema’ JM inspires with a story of courage and friendship in “Standing Up”, while “The Last Chance in Youth Football” by Earnest Young highlights the importance of youth sports. There are also many stories with elements of suspense, science fiction, and plot twists. Readers of all interests can immerse themselves in heartfelt, funny, curious, and/or exciting narratives put together by our young authors.
Celebrating Our Published Authors
This summer, we proudly celebrated our newly published authors with a special book launch event. We honored their achievements with a festive gathering to mark the release of their latest works: Never Really Gone: Horrors of the Past, Mysteries of the Future and The Secret World of Monsters. Our authors delighted guests by sharing their stories and signing copies of their books, making the event truly memorable.
